UXeed is short for ‘UX + Seed’, a UX study group that students and practitioners started on their own.
As lead manager for two years, I ran the online book study and held occasional book talks and networking events. I built a semi-anonymous way of running the group, with nicknames that pair a modifier with a fruit or vegetable and avatars we made ourselves, and I designed the Notion- and Discord-based community system myself.
Most of the early members were students, and they now work as practitioners at a range of companies. Practitioners from other fields joined later, and since I handed it over, a later team of organizers has kept it going as a networking group.
